Poppy offers private tutoring and targeted academic intervention, grounded in a close partnership between your family, your child’s teacher, and your interventionist.

Learning support within the school day

With approval from your child’s private school, one-to-one sessions take place on campus during an agreed-upon time. Your child steps out of class for individualized instruction in reading, phonics, writing, or math, then returns ready to put new skills into practice.

For families and schools

We coordinate learning goals, scheduling, and progress updates with families and school staff. Instruction responds to your child’s needs while supporting the work happening in their classroom.

  • Chelsea Peterson

    Private Interventionist & Tutor Individualized instruction: $200 per hour Chelsea brings more than a decade of experience as an elementary educator and school administrator to her work with children and families. She combines thoughtful assessment, targeted instruction, and warm relationships to help students strengthen foundational skills and feel more confident as learners. Working in partnership with parents and classroom teachers, Chelsea creates an individualized plan that connects each child’s learning needs with their school experience. On-campus sessions are available with school approval.

    Hourly Coaching $80 per hour

    Hi! I’m Dihani, an Ethnic Studies student at UC Berkeley who is passionate about teaching and supporting student growth. Growing up in an educational environment, thanks to my mother’s Montessori school, I developed a love for helping children thrive. I enjoy making subjects like history and biology exciting, fostering curiosity and confidence in every student. A fun fact about me: I’m always excited to learn new things, and I’ve recently started learning Arabic! My goal is to create inclusive spaces where students feel empowered to learn and succeed. One day, I hope to own my own Montessori school and continue inspiring young minds!
