About Poppy

I’m Chelsea Peterson, founder of Poppy, an elementary educator and former school administrator with more than a decade of experience helping children grow as learners. I believe the strongest support begins with knowing the whole child—their strengths, their challenges, and what helps them feel capable.

Poppy offers individualized tutoring and academic intervention in reading, phonics, writing, and math. Through assessment and purposeful instruction, I identify where support is needed and build a plan that evolves with your child’s progress.

With your private school’s approval, I can work with your child on campus during the school day, providing focused one-to-one instruction outside the classroom. Close communication with families and classroom teachers helps connect that support to everyday learning.

My goal is a partnership in which parents feel informed, teachers feel supported, and children feel understood—and increasingly confident in what they can do.
